The national organization of the Boy Scouts of America filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware last year in February 2020 to allegedly achieve two key objectives: equitably compensate victims who were harmed during their time in scouting and continue to carry out scouting’s mission for years to come.  Honorable Judge Laurie Selber Silverstein is overseeing the debtor’s bankruptcy case.
