Citigroup Financial Buys Claim in Face Amount of $40M in LATAM Airlines Bankruptcy
January 1, 2022, Southern District of New York – Citigroup Financial Products Inc. files a transfer agreement with the United States Bankruptcy Court for Southern District of New York, recording transfer of claims of Aurelius Capital Master, Ltd against LATAM Airlines Group SA to Citigroup Financial Products Inc. Specifically, Citigroup Financial Products Inc. acquires Claim No. 3201 ($4,695,178.03) and Claim No. 2723 ($36,973,806.48) from the American hedge fund.
On May 26, 2020, LATAM Airlines Group SA and 28 affiliated debtors filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The cases are pending before the Honorable Judge James L. Garrity Jr. and are jointly administered under Case No. 20-11254.
